About the House

This luxury property is situated on the banks of the River Torridge, with stunning views from every room that change constantly with the ebb and flow of the tide. There is continual activity of wildlife, with a large and diverse population of estuary birds: Canada Geese, Egrets, Wagtails, Herons, and many more.  It is easy to waste hours just 'watching'. 

The house was entirely renovated during 2018/2019 and is finished to a high standard.  The ground floor is finished with a beautiful limestone floor, whilst the living room and three bedrooms are finished with thick pile carpet. There is under-floor heating throughout the ground floor and radiators in the upstairs' bedrooms. 

The Ground Floor hosts a splendid open-plan kitchen, dining room and living room, all with floor to ceiling windows over looking the river. There is also a separate TV/Games room located behind the dining room, which has a 3-seater sofa bed to provide additional sleeping capacity if required. The house is equipped with high-speed internet, Sky TV and an X-Box. 

The three bedrooms are located on the First Floor. There are two spacious master bedrooms at each end of the house, plus a smaller twin room. One of the master bedrooms has its own balcony and a three 3-seater sofa bed that provides the option to sleep additional children (please check with us on booking).  All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms.

The house is served by a private drive with parking for several cars.

Canoes and life-jackets are available for rent during your stay and can be launched directly from the  garden.

The small towns of Bideford and Torrington are only 10-minutes away and provide all the necessary shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants (& more!). Barnstaple and Appledore are 20-minutes away. There is easy access to the Tarka Trail, which offers 30 miles of traffic free cycle/running path

Please note: Well behaved dogs are welcome at the property, on the stone floor areas of the property only. Please be aware that the local sheep farmers will take action if dogs stray into the neighbouring fields.
